What to bring:
- Flashlight for use to and from the hot tub, strolls down to the river after
dark, etc. It is also nice to have when you arrive after dark.
Occassionally the porch light burns out and leaves you in absolute
dark trying to enter the code to retrieve the key!
- Towels and robes for hot tubbing. Sandles or shoes to wear to and from the tub. The tub is about
100 feet from the cabin, 200 ' from tipi, and down a dirt trail.
- No oils, lotions and bubbles in the tub, please!
- Hiking / climbing / fishing/ ski gear
- Videos & CD's. We supply the players, some great movies, romantic
CD's in cabin. (sorry, none in the tipi)
- Food and beverages
- Towels for use at the River (towels for use inside are supplied)
- Firewood for fire pit (except during very hot months when there is a burn
ban). Small outdoor fires are permitted only when conditions are
safe. Please tend your fire, keep it small and make sure it is
completely out before leaving. Grocery stores with firewood and
logs - Coming from Seattle / Redmond / Everett there is an excellent
Safeway in Monroe with a large stock of bundled wood and Dellogs.
Coming from Eastern Washington there is a Safeway in Leavenworth
with everything you will need.
- Charcoal and lighter fluid for BBQ grill
There are great old style community stores in Baring, Index and
Skykomish. The Baring Store has a great deli, espresso, chili,
and is a fun experience as the local community parades by to pick
up their mail at the post office in back. There is fine dining
and lounge in Index at the Bush House, good burgers and breakfast
at the Index Cafe and the hotels in Skykomish.
