Mount Rainier National Park, established in 1899, covers 235,625 acres, most of it designated Wilderness. It is a 14,410' active volcano encased in over 35 square miles of snow and ice. Visit old growth forests, subalpine meadows, glacier fed rivers, lakes, and waterfalls. Hike on well maintained trails or climb to the summit. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are favorite winter activities. It is a photographers and sight see-ers paradise.

Guided Snowshoe Walks
Late December through early April join Park Rangers on guided snowshow walk in the Park. Leave from the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise. For more info, check the park newspaper.
